Ted grew up in Lincolnwood and went to Niles West High School in Skokie and has lived in Winnetka, Wilmette on the North shore and has lived for many years in the city in the Gold Coast and Old Town neighborhoods.

Ted Widen Founded ChicagoScene.com in 1998 and has produced two of the city’s most exciting and well-known events including The Chicago Scene New Years’s Eve Party at the Drake Hotel Chicago and now at Time Out Market in the West Loop and The world-famous Chicago Scene Boat Party, held every summer in the “Play Pen”, over 500 boats and 10,000 people come out every year on the last Saturday of July.
